The Rocky Mountain R.E.A.D.® Program In The Denver Metro Area  The Rocky Mountain R.E.A.D.® Program In The Denver Metro Area Minimize

Currently we building our team base of R.E.A.D. teams in the Lafayette, Erie, Boulder, Louisville and other northern suburbs.  We also serve other metro Denver teams and institutions requesting the R.E.A.D. program.

  • Rocky Mountain R.E.A.D. will begin in February 2006 at Sister Carmen Community Center. We are excited about this relationship of providing the R.E.A.D. program to their clients.  We will operate under the “library” Animal Assisted Activity (AAA) format.
  • Fairview Elementary located in Denver has just signed on with us to offer R.E.A.D. to their second graders.
  • We have been working closely with the Lafayette Library who has generously offered a volunteer and the use of the libraries dog related books to help support the R.E.A.D. program at Sister Carmen Community Center.
  • The Lafayette Library has requested Rocky Mountain Reading Education Assistance Dogs to offer our program for the summer of 2006  -  775 W Baseline Rd, Lafayette, CO
  • We have been approached by a staff member of one of the Lafayette Elementary Schools to offer information on the R.E.A.D. program.  We hope we will have the opportunity to provide them with our literacy program
  • We are also beginning the process for three other libraries.  Two are in Westminster , College Hill Library - 3705 W 112th Ave, Westminster, CO and Irving Street Library - 3031 W. 76th Ave, Westminster, CO 80030, and the other library is located in Arapahoe County.  Sheridan Library - 3201 West Oxford Avenue, Sheridan, CO 80236
  • We have seen how the R.E.A.D. program grows based on positive reactions, media coverage, and enthusiasm generated from parents, children, and facility staff members.  We know that our growth will continue to develop
  • School, libraries, and other organizations will want us to provide them with the R.E.A.D. program
  • Delta Pet Partners® continue to contact us seeking a Reading Education Assistance Dogs training workshop so they can become registered R.E.A.D. teams
  • Having more R.E.A.D. teams eases the balance of providing teams to interested facilities.
